Quantitation Assays

Glyceral-3-Phosphate Dehydrogenase (GPDH) Activity Assay
A quantitative colorimetric measurement of glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GPDH) activity in cell cultures and tissue samples such as adipocytes and adipose tissues.

Lipid Assay
Use our Lipid Assay to study the effects of adipogenesis inhibitors or inducers. Solutions of Oil Red O, fixative, and lipid extraction solution quantify lipids in mature adipocytes.

DNA Quantification Assay*
Quantify DNA directly from cultured cells – no purification required. Reagent H33258 added to a cell homogenate binds to DNA and fluoresces at wavelength 485 nm.

Acid Mucopolysaccharide Assay*
Mucopolysaccharides, a class of polysaccharides, found in connective tissue provides structural integrity to animals. Our Acid Mucopolysaccharide Assay quantitatively measures acidic mucopolysaccharide in animal cartilage tissue or cultured chondrocytes (cell layers or spheroid cell clusters).

Type 1 Collagenase Assay
Type 1 collagenase (MMP-1) is a member of the matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) family which degrades extracellular matrix components. Optimized to detect collagenase activity, our Type 1 Collagenase Assay detects collagenase activity in cell lysate and in culture supernatant using fluorescently labeled collagen as a substrate.

Staining Assays

TRAP Staining*
Bone mass is controlled by the balanced activities of osteoblasts and osteoclasts. The TRAP Staining Kit stains tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase in osteoclasts.Tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase is a biomarker for the presence of osteoclasts.

Pancreatic Beta-Cell Staining Kit
Our Pancreatic ß-Cell Staining Kit enables researchers to immunostain insulin in pancreatic ß-cells. Diabetes type 1 is caused by the destruction or dysfunction of ß-cells compared to Diabetes type 2 which is the gradual decline of the cells over time.

Stain All Kit
Acidic proteins that regulate bone mineralization are abundant in bones and teeth. The acidic nature of these proteins makes them difficult to detect by conventional staining methods in SDS-PAGE gels. The Stain All Kit is specifically designed to stain strongly acidic proteins in SDS-PAGE gels. The color of the protein band varies depending on the protein’s isoelectric point (pI) and chemical modifications like glycosylation and phosphorylation.

*Kits use the same buffers therefore a single sample can be shared among these assays.
