Microbial Detection Kits

    • Sensitive PCR-based nucleic-acid detection of microbial species
    • Rapid, easy-to-follow protocols that minimize manipulation
    • Clear, easy-to-discriminate results with appropriate controls to ensure proper interpretation

Biotools offers a number of kits, based on PCR methodology, to detect DNA or RNA from various microbial species, including the malarial parasite, enterovirus, hepatitis B and C, papillomavirus, and tuberculosis. These kits have been optimized to provide accurate, easy-to-understand results, with fast and convenient protocols.

Briefly summarized below are the main features of the kits. For more information, please go to the Biotools website.

Biotools Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C Detection Kits --- detect the presence of HBV or HCV in a variety of samples, including blood, serum, PBMCs, biopsies, etc.

    • Detect as little as 10-50 copies of the viral genome per sample.
    • Identify the virus in less than 7 hours.
    • Available in convenient, ready-to-use gel format.
    • Detect all geographic variants of the virus. The kits have been tested using a variety of samples from European, American, Asian, Middle Eastern origins.

Biopap Human Papillomavirus Detection Kit --- detect HPVs in frotis, swabs, biopsies, etc.

    • Differentiate oncogenic and non-oncogenic genotypes
    • Detect as little as 10 copies/ml, so it will provide positive results before injuries caused by the virus can be observed macroscopically.
    • Get positive results in a less than 12 hours (The Papanicolaou test usually takes 48 hours)

Biomalar Malarial Detection Kit --- detection and identification of the four Plasmodium species that cause malaria in human beings. In contrast, protein methods only detect P. faciparum or P. vivax.

    • Detection level two orders of magnitude better than protein-based methods (e.g., ELISA). Detect parasite levels down to 0.001% which is useful for detection of latent infections and post-treatment surveys.
    • Only requires one or two amplification reactions so you can get your results right away.

Biotub Tuberculosis Detection Kit --- detects the presence of Mycobacterium tuberculosis DNA in a wide variety of human clinical samples (sputum, blood, lung tissues, etc.).

    • Detect as little as 10 copies/ml, which is around two orders of magnitude higher than protein-based methods.
    • Therefore, BIOTUB kits can be used for early detection of M. tuberculosis, at the earliest stages of the disease.
    • Provide positive results for a variety of samples, including antibiotic-resistant strains.
    • Identify the bacteria in less than 7 hours.
